The Oneida Railway Company

The scene shown here and as a background on the following pages depicts the Oneida Railway Company station grounds, Stop 29, at North Chittenango. This picture contains all of the elements that made up the ORCo's 3rd rail system: the under running 3rd rail with covers, support brackets, duct work, and insulating blocks, the 3-line transmission towers with large pin-type insulators mounted upon the tower top, the depot, milk station, block station, freight house, and - of course - a 500 series Brill built interurban car stopped on the eastbound track. This view looks west at milepost 263.83 with the Chittenango Highway crossing just in front of the block station.

This photograph is from the collection of Randy Wilsey.
